MJ Reilly

I'm a small animal veterinary surgeon who likes to read and write.  MJ Reilly is the pseudonym I chose to sort of hide behind, though with very little forethought or ability.  Reilly hails from John Kennedy Toole's masterfully written anti-hero and protagonist in A Confederacy of Dunces, Ignatius J. Reilly.  I read almost nothing for pleasure growing up and this extended into and after college.  In adulthood I was coaxed into it by great friends who knew a lot more than me about literature, and pretty much everything else.  A Confederacy of Dunces was the first book on their list of must reads.  It was an inspiration and after that I was hooked.  MJ, I just thought made me sound interesting.
